A GWENT mum has given birth to naturally conceived ʀᴀʀᴇ ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs – at ᴏᴅᴅs of 200 million to one. Multiple births are much more common today than they were in the past. According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, the twin birth rate has ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴀsᴇᴅ by over 75% since 1980, and triplet, quadruplet, and high-order multiple births have ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴀsᴇᴅ at an even higher rate. There are more multiple births today in part because more women are receiving ɪɴFᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ, which carries a risk of multiple pregnancy.
Sian Williams, 31, of Cwmbran, was already excited to find out she was expecting her first child with partner Aaron Palfrey, 26. But the sᴄᴀɴ revealed she was having ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs and they were going to be identical.
“We were completely speechless and sᴛᴜɴɴᴇᴅ. At our fifteen week sᴄᴀɴ we found out we were expecting three girls.” Williams said

Ms Williams said: “It had been such a horrible few years for our family so when we found out I was having ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs it brought joy back into our lives again. It is pure bliss watching them grow. Of course its hard work but we love every minute of it. We’ve swapped our Mercedes for a sensible family Land Rover – it is much easier to fit in three baby car seats.”
