Newborn Babies Look ‘Funny’ And  Mother’s Rᴇᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴ  When Hearing Others Call Her Child Uɢʟʏ

A mother has shared pictures of her ‘funny’ looking baby. Looks like a little bird in the garden but says other parents have been ᴅᴇʀᴏɢᴀᴛᴏʀʏ. Emily Crossan, 31, was reviewing old photos of her son Isaac when she realized he had not yet fully ‘grown up his face’ at just a few months old. The mother of two, from Rugeley, Staffordshire, said she was ‘ʙʟɪɴᴅ for love’ at the time. But it must be admitted that the young Isaac was not the most attractive. She shared the photos with a parenting group, hoping to give other parents a good laugh at some of the ʀɪᴅɪᴄᴜʟᴏᴜs faces her child pulled out. Many people admit that babies look a bit funny and share their pictures of babies looking a bit ɢᴏᴏFʏ. But one woman has ᴅᴜʙʙᴇᴅ the post ‘disgusting’ for calling an ‘ɪɴɴᴏᴄᴇɴᴛ’ baby ᴜɢʟʏ.“How can you call your child ᴜɢʟʏ?” Isaac’s mother Emily, now three, and sister Isabelle, six, have denied the ᴄʀɪᴛɪᴄɪsᴍ and said she loves her son ‘more than anything in this world’ and looks forward to laughing with the boys picture with him when he was older. Emily said: ‘At the time I thought he was the most beautiful thing in the world, a perfect newborn.

“It wasn’t until I looked at my recent old photos that I thought ‘what am I thinking! “He looked funny and certainly wasn’t the sᴇxɪᴇsᴛ baby in the world – I was clearly ʙʟɪɴᴅ to motherhood at the time. “If you give him a fishing rod and the little hat, he may have ᴄʀᴏsseᴅ to get a garden hamster. But he’s grown up on his own face and now he’s very different with a proper likability.

“The intensive care nurse is used to seeing newborn babies look ‘funny’ in the workplace and so knows it’s common and something they all quickly develop. The fact that Isaac went through the ‘Uɢʟʏ baby’ phase, polite family and friends never mentioned it to Emily out of ᴘᴏʟɪᴛᴇɴᴇss.She said: ‘When he was very young he looked so funny and as he got a little older he became even more chubby. ‘I see a lot of babies looking so funny in my work, it’s just one of those things and they grow up on it. “No one told me anything about it at the time but would they dare? ‘The older he got, the bigger his face got and up to six months old. He’s gone beyond that funny-looking stage’ doesn’t mean they’re unpopular.
Despite facing backlash from her post, Emily refuses to ‘take herself too seriously’ and urges others, especially parents, to learn to laugh at the little things. She said: “We’re all in the same boat as our parents and it’s hard work, so you have to see the funny side of things and be able to laugh about everything because otherwise, it will become too much.

Babies in the womb develop a range of facial movements in such a way that it is possible to identify facial expressions such as laughter and crying. For the first time, a group of researchers was able to show that recognizable facial expressions develop before birth and that, as the pregnancy progresses from 24 to 36 weeks gestation, fetal facial movements become more complex when they was born.
