Mum Who Has Three Kids With The Same Married sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ

Michala Daly has three children with a married man she never ʜᴀᴅ sᴇx with. She had sworn off ᴍᴇɴ, found a sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ online. Michala says her ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ with her sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ is more supportive than any ‘normal’ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ she has had with ᴍᴇɴ.

And thanks to Martin — not his real name — she is now mum to Teddy, seven, Indy, four, and Nell, two, as well as her two kids from a previous ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ, Jude, 16 and Kit, 11.

                                                              She is Teddy

Michala says: “There’s no romance, no agenda, just three beautiful children I’d not have if it wasn’t for him. I’ve offered him money and he’s never accepted a penny. He’s more supportive than any man I’ve had a ‘normal’ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ with.”

Single Michala, from Henley-on-Thames, Oxon, started the process in 2010. She says: “I had been single for a few years and was upset at the thought I might never be a ᴍᴜᴍᴍʏ ᴀɢᴀɪɴ. Jude and Kit were my world and I’d always longed to have more so one night I googled ‘sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ”. We emailed back and forth and ᴀʀʀᴀɴɢᴇᴅ to meet at a service station but I was so nervous, I sat in the car for half an hour plucking up the confidence to go in. He told me he was married and his wife was aware he was a donor but preferred not to be involved. He asked all sorts of professional questions. I realised with his help, I could have kids without having a boyfriend.”

They ᴀʀʀᴀɴɢᴇᴅ for Martin to donate sperm, which he would leave in in a pot for her to use at home. Within two months, she was pregnant with Teddy but felt ᴇᴍʙᴀʀʀᴀssᴇᴅ about telling her family the truth about how she had conceived.

She says: “It took me six months to tell them. At first I said I’d had a one-night stand. But that couldn’t be further from the truth — I’d meticulously planned to grow my family, selecting a man I thought would give my future children the ʙᴇsᴛ ᴘᴏssɪʙʟᴇ DNA. When I did tell my dad and step-mum, they needed to mull it over, but once they’d processed the news they were so supportive. Once it had sunk in, they just laughed and thought it was typically me to be so unconventional.”

                                                                    She is Nell

Michala had another three pregnancies with Martin, one of which sadly ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴇᴅ, but again her kind donor was there to help her through it.

She explains: “In 2012, I lost my baby Pollyanna at five months but Martin visited me the day I got home from hospital. He was incredibly supportive. I went on to have two more babies with him. I’m so thrilled that they all look the same and have the same ɢᴇɴᴇs. I t was really important to me to get that continuity. Kit and Jude think Martin’s great and they adore their younger siblings. None of us have ever received any ɴᴇɢᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ comᴍᴇɴts from anyone else either.”

Now the children are growing up, Martin is still there to offer his support — emotionally and sometimes financially.

But Michala says: “Martin and I have never had any romantic feelings towards each other and the lines of our ᴜɴᴜsᴜᴀʟ Fʀɪᴇɴᴅsʜɪᴘ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ʙʟᴜʀʀᴇᴅ.”

But Michala’s kids are not the only children Martin has fathered through sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ and she is in touch with some of the other mums.

She says: “I’m online-friends with other mothers who he also helped. Our children are half-siblings. I urge woᴍᴇɴ to be careful and thorough in their decision-making. Sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ is the greatest idea ever.”

Martin says: “I wanted to help woᴍᴇɴ like Michala to realise their potential to be mothers. If a woman is ᴡɪʟʟɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴅᴇᴅɪᴄᴀᴛᴇ herself to her children I am happy to help
