Hamilton and her husband, Christian youth minister Adam Dirks, shared this sweet photo on her Instagram page as they cradled their newborn son. Hamilton was just 13 years old when she ʟᴏsᴛ her arm in a shark ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ while surfing in Hawaii. She continues to surf today, despite that sᴄᴀʀʏ experience.
“Blessed to welcome our second son, Tobias, into the world. He is named after his great grandpa Tobias meaning ‘The goodness of Gᴏᴅ,'” she captioned the photo.
Hamilton, 25,he and Dirks were married in 2013 and are excited to start their new life with their first son Tobias . shared that Tobias was born on June 1, weighed a healthy 7.9 pounds and measured 21 inches in length. Throughout her pregnancy, Hamilton continued to surf and she also stayed active by swimming.
“Swimming is my favorite exercise late in my pregnancy, It feels so good to get in the water and feel weightless and move my body with complete ease. I’ll always aim to live healthy for me and for my family.” she revealed
Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton announced the birth of her second child, Wesley Phillip Dirks, and thanked Gᴏᴅ for giving her another healthy baby. She announced her second pregnancy on October 8
“We are overjoyed to welcome our son Wesley Phillip Dirks into the world! It’s been a beautiful time getting life started with the four of us! We are thankful to Gᴏᴅ for our two lil guys!!!” she captioned a photo of her family.
“Adam and I are so so sooo excited!!! And Tobias seems to get excited too; he gives baby kisses everyday!” she wrote on her website. “We are thankful we can grow our family and add even more joy to life. Becoming parents to Tobias has been such a beautiful journey. We love the joy and also the challenges he brings to our life; and he is sure ready for a sibling.”
