by A MUM who feared she was ɪɴꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟᴇ after suffering two ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇs and being ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsᴇᴅ ᴡɪᴛʜ Pᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ Oᴠᴀʀʏ Sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ discovered she was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs right before she was due to start I.V.F ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ. Stefanie Latcham, 27, and her fiance Michael Gough, 30, were seeking help with ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ after trying to get ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ for two years. The couple, from Fᴇʀʀʏꜰɪʟʟ, Dᴜʀʜᴀᴍ, were delighted to find they had naturally ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs when they arrived home from a holiday to Sᴘᴀɪɴ last year. The mum – who already had son and suffers from P.C.O.S – was ecstatic to learn she was expecting identical ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs.
Although I.V.F increases your chance of having ᴛᴡɪɴs, identical triples occurs just once in every 200 million ʙɪʀᴛʜs. Delighted by the news, Stefanie and Michael’s family doubled in size on 30 March 2019 when their daughters Ollie-Anna, Isabella and Brianna were born. The new parents are now sharing their story in the hopes that it will give other couples sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ with ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ hope. Stephanie said: “We never imagined our baby dream would come true naturally and while we were on holiday. I’d suffered two ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇs in the past and after being diagnosed with P.C.O.S, I thought they only way for us to have our own baby was through I.V.F.”
Stephanie said: “The first sᴄᴀɴ in October showed us baby one, two weeks later baby two and a week after that there was baby three, It was the best feeling in the world knowing I was carrying three miracles after everything we had been through – it finally happened to us.” Now that they’re proud parents to three baby girls, the mum added: “Life is hectic now, but I would not have it any other way, we have a good routine in place, they go for feeds every four hours and in those four hours we have to feed, burp, change, play with them and get them to sleep. When all of that is done, we start again, we’re lucky to get an hour out each time for ourselves!”
Michael continued: “Having three new-borns in the space of seven months is both wonderful and scary at the same time, Steph always said that she wanted a ‘Home Alone’ family and after longing for just one child, finally getting three is amazing. We were blessed with these for a reason. We were told that there is a one in 200 million chance of identical ᴛʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛs, we feel incredibly lucky.”
