Angerson Santos ᴡᴀs ʙᴏʀɴ ᴠɪᴀ C-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ in the state of Aᴍᴀᴢᴏɴᴀs ɪɴ Bʀᴀᴢɪʟ on Wednesday, January 18, and made headlines all over the country, with his mum saying even she was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ by his size. Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs were sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ when they delivered a baby weighing a whopping 7kg, believed to be the “ʙɪɢɢᴇsᴛ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴀᴛᴇ” it was born in.
The child is believed to be the ʙɪɢɢᴇsᴛ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴀᴛᴇ of Amazonas, which is in the northwestern corner of the country and is greater in size than the areas of Uʀᴜɢᴜᴀʏ, Pᴀʀᴀɢᴜᴀʏ, ᴀɴᴅ Cʜɪʟᴇ combined. Gɪᴠɪɴɢ ʙɪʀᴛʜ to a kid of that size presents serious health ʀɪsᴋs to the mother and the infant. However, the ʙɪʀᴛʜ was ultimately successful. Santos and her newborn baby are both healthy and stable after the ʙɪʀᴛʜ.
Angerson’s mother, Cleidiane Santos dos Santos, 27, arrived for an obstetric consultation at the Pᴀᴅʀᴇ Cᴏʟᴏᴍʙᴏ Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ the day before the ʙɪʀᴛʜ, but was told that the child would ʙᴇ ᴛᴏᴏ ʙɪɢ ꜰᴏʀ ᴀ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟ ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀʏ. So, the next day, the delivery ᴠɪᴀ ᴄᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ was performed and chubby Angerson was ʙᴏʀɴ ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ᴀʙɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟɪᴛɪᴇs. Angerson’s height at ʙɪʀᴛʜ was 59 centimeters, a full eight centimetres ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴠᴇʀᴀɢᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴀ ɴᴇᴡʙᴏʀɴ.
The hospital launched a campaign to help the parents as Angerson’s pre-bought clothes wont fit him. The health unit is reportedly collecting bigger diapers and baby clothes for 9 months and 1-year-olds for the ʜᴜɢᴇ ᴄʜɪʟᴅ. Said the child’s mother: “I did not expect this sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ. I thought it would be four kilos, but it turned out to be seven kilos. I want to thank the team at Hospital, who have been giving me strength and treating me very well, since I arrived here, if it weren’t for them, I don’t know what would have become of me. So, I thank each one.”
