A baby boy born to Uᴋʀᴀɪɴɪᴀɴ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛs ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ U.K, has gone ᴠɪʀᴀʟ for his amazing mop of thick, floppy, white-blond hair. After his ʙɪʀᴛʜ, he was likened to ғᴏʀᴍᴇʀ U.K. ᴘʀɪᴍᴇ ᴍɪɴɪsᴛᴇʀ Bᴏʀɪs Jᴏʜɴsᴏɴ and gained a worldwide fan base. Twenty months on, there’s a second baby on the way, and the family can’t help but wonder if they will welcome another adorable celebrity lookalike.
Tatiana Doronina of Kyiv, 36, lives in Lᴏɴᴅᴏɴ, Eɴɢʟᴀɴᴅ, with her husband Ruslan Barabash of Kamenetsk-Podilsk, 44. Their toddler, David, will turn two in March 2023. The couple’s second baby is due the same month. Tatiana said: “The ɪɴᴛʀɪɢᴜᴇ is actually what kind of baby I will have . All our families are wondering … my friends, they’re joking, ‘Oh, maybe your second baby will look like the ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛ ᴘʀɪᴍᴇ ᴍɪɴɪsᴛᴇʀ!’”
David Alexander Barabash was born a week past his due date on March 1, 2021. Weighing 8 pounds (approx. 4kg), his size was not the only sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ. Brunettes Tatiana and Ruslan were instead ᴀsᴛᴏᴜɴᴅᴇᴅ by his full head of thick blond hair. Tatiana recalled asking her husband after David’s ʙɪʀᴛʜ: “I was like, Do you have any blonds in your family? Because I don’t! All the doctors were like: “Oʜ ᴍʏ ɢᴏᴅ, what a baby! We’ve never seen this kind of baby before. Even if babies are blond, they usually have thin hair.”
Within three months of David’s ʙɪʀᴛʜ, his photos were shared on Instagram. Tatiana was even interviewed by the media. At that time she had no idea that his pictures would spread so far and wide. However, David became famous not just in the U.K. but across the world and his story was been picked up by different media.
Tatiana said: “I was sᴛʀᴇssᴇᴅ, I think I lost three or four kilos. There was a moment when I actually was a little bit sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ, because people were ᴏʙsᴇssᴇᴅ with it. He was like a little superstar. I covered his hair so people wouldn’t notice.” Tatiana limited her photo uploads but soon grew fond of David’s Instagram following and their sweet comments. She said: “The majority [of comments] were actually very cute … ‘What a beautiful baby!’ ‘What hair!’ … people started to put their babies in comparison with famous people. It was amazing, it was funny,”
She said: “His hair is such a beautiful colour though and he has such long eyelashes. I wish I had his hair, it is an amazing colour and so thick. I was 100 per cent sure he would be dark haired, I just can’t believe my son is blond. I know his thick, long hair comes from me because my hair was long and thick as a baby too.” Despite its length, Tatiana has no plans to cut it yet. She added: “I am curious to see just how big it grows but it is already hard to manage. When I wash his hair I try to style it but once it is dry it just sticks up everywhere. For now I have kept his hair completely natural but I think it will need styling and I will blow dry it. I think he will need an extensive hair care regime.”
Tatiana has set up on Instagram for baby David but jokingly wrote ‘not Boris Johnson’s son’ on his profile. She said: “I don’t mind the Boris comparison, I know people would think it even if we didn’t realise ourselves. I just hope Boris doesn’t mind. I hope his hair makes him stand out, I would like him to join a baby modelling agency and see where this adventure takes us.”
